Christianity in China is complex and diverse, with a rich history and a church body full of dedicated Jesus followers sharing God's eternal hope and peace with others.  Yet, faithfully serving Jesus in China comes with it's own set of challenges.  By visiting our Christian friends in China in partnership with The Outreach Foundation, we learn about the challenges they face and how they are navigating them. We also deepen our understanding of Chinese culture and the ways the American church and the Chinese church are interconnected.  But most importantly, we offer mutual encouragement and strengthening of our faith to both our Chinese friends and to ourselves, as we witness God’s work in China and  return home seeing our own context with fresh eyes.

Come experience the church in China and be inspired by fellow believers as we encourage one another and deepen our faith in Jesus. Throughout our visit we will be having conversations with Christians and church leaders in various sectors of Chinese society who are navigating and responding to issues in a difficult and ever-changing context.

Our visit will launch from the modern city of Shanghai where we will recover from our flights and meet with believers and leaders who are part of the official Shanghai church. From there, we will travel to Nanjing where we will visit church leaders from Jiangsu Provincial leadership, meet with the Amity Bible Printing Company, and explore cultural sites. Then it is off to Suzhou for an exchange with Dushu Lake Church leaders and the Suzhou Christian Council leadership. Following our time in Suzhou we will drive south to Hangzhou. There we will worship in different churches, share meals with church leaders in Zhejiang province, visit the provincial seminary, and see cultural sites. The highlight will be a visit to the rural area of Lishui where churches are being planted, and spending time listening to pastors' stories.

Our visit will conclude in Hangzhou and trip participants may travel to Shanghai’s PVG airport for a return to the US. Or, participants may continue on a 3-day optional extension in Beijing for a cultural appreciation visit, where we will tour sections of the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City & Palace Museum, and explore the “North Capital”.
